Meet the Cast

Nicholas Hambruch (Edward Bloom) is excited to perform in his first Brelby Theatre Company production. You may have recently seen him as Quasimodo in Zao Theatres production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Eddie Souther in Hale’s production of Sister Act, Don Price in Hale’s production of Big Fish, The Beast in MET’s Beauty and the Beast, Levi in Hale’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, John Hinckley in FHT’s production of Assassins, Edward Bloom in MCC’s production of Big Fish , Gomez in SCC’s production of The Addams Family, Ram Sweeney in the first ever “at-age” cast of Heathers the musical, or Joseph in FHTs production of Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Addison Bowman (Sandra Bloom) is a Senior at Sandra Day O’Connor High School. She is very excited to make her debut at the Brelby Theatre Company. Some of her past credits include Fantine in Les Mis School Edition (Theater Works), Miss Sandra in All Shook Up (DFT), Rosalie Mullins in School of Rock (SYT), Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (SYT), and Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical (VYT). Addison is the recipient of the NYA 2016 and 2017 Artist of the Year award and the recipient of two 2017 Arizoni awards.

Anand Khalsa (Will Bloom) is thrilled to be making his Brelby Theatre Company debut in Big Fish! Anand has performed all across the Valley; some of his favorite roles include Nephew Fred in A Christmas Carol (SMTC), Gomez Addams in The Addams Family (GYT), Prez in The Pajama Game (GYT), Frank Sr. in Catch Me If You Can (DST), and Sir Robin in Spamalot (DST). A theater major at Mesa Community College, Anand hopes to be a professional actor.

Cyrus Hilding (Young Will) is excited to be making his Brelby stage debut. Some of his favorite recent roles include Tommy (Miracle on 34th St.), Randy (A Christmas Story) and Workhouse Boy (Oliver) at ABT, as well as Chi Fu (Mulan Jr.) and Mike TeaVee (Willy Wonka Jr.) at SYT. Cyrus would like to give an enormous, heartfelt thank you to Shelby and Brian for this opportunity.

Krissy Johnson (The Witch) is thrilled to be making her Brelby stage debut, as she and her husband just moved to the Valley from Philadelphia! Classically trained, she received a Bachelor of Music from Trinity University and a Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Houston. For the last three years, she was seen as Cheryl in the national tour of WAIST WATCHERS: THE MUSICAL! Favorite regional theatre roles include Mother in RAGTIME, Rita LaPorta in LUCKY STIFF, Mrs. Meers in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Dotty/Mrs. Clackett in NOISES OFF, and Donna in MAMMA MIA!

Brady Anderson (Amos/Dr. Bennett) is ecstatic to bring this story to life with this wonderful cast & crew. Brelby credits include: Depend on Me, Midsummer’s, Return to Rosie’s, Powerhouse, Much Ado, 12 Days. He’s also done Seussical, Once Upon A Mattress (Theater Works) Play of Endings (Aside) & It’s A Wonderful Life (DBFRT). He’s very much a dog person.

Kevin Fenderson (Karl the Giant) is excited to be back on the Brelby stage with this incredible cast and crew! Favorite roles include: Mitch Mahoney (Spelling Bee, Brelby) and Man 1 (Now. Here. This., A/C Theatre Company). Enjoy the show!

Mackenzie Morgan (Jenny Hill/ Ensemble) is ecstatic to be making her Brelby debut in Big Fish The Musical. Mackenzie’s most recent credits include “Cat” in Honk, “Brooke Wyndham” in Legally Blonde, and “Lucy” in Avenue Q. When Mackenzie isn’t on stage she loves to box and write. She would like to thank the cast and crew of Big Fish for being so welcoming and truly a second little family. Mackenzie would also like to say thank you to her Mom for always aiding her in her love for Theatre no matter the circumstances.

Noah Manumaleuga (Don Price) is a newcomer to Brelby! Recent credits include “Issachar” in “Joseph ATATD” at TheaterWorks, “Harv” in “Curtains” at PUSD Faculty/Alumni Showcase, and “Jose” in “In The Heights” at PUSD Summer Theatre. He would like to thank his family for supporting him, his best friend Josh Allred, for getting him into Theatre, his friends, new and old, castmates, and Director for giving him this amazing opportunity! He hopes to do more shows here at Brelby.

Sarah Bary (Girl in the Water/ Ensemble) is excited to be back on the Brelby stage for this production. She has been seen previously in Powerhouse the Tesla musical, Return to Rosie’s Pub and Spin. Sarah would like to thank her family, fiancee, and friends for all of their support. Enjoy the show!

Jaelyn Brown (Josephine/ Ensemble) is so thankful to be making her debut at Brelby in this wonderful show! After beginning acting two years ago, she found her passion on the stage. She has been most recently seen in Tuck Everlasting, 12 Angry Jurors, and Thoroughly Modern Millie at Limelight Performing Arts. Many thanks to everyone who has made following this dream possible.

Anthony Rozzen (Zacky Price/ Ensemble) is an 18 year old nut job that cares about 3 things: money, theatre, and friends.


Meet the Creative Team

Shelby Maticic (Artistic Director/Director/Costume Designer) is a Zoni nominated playwright and designer. She received her BS in Theatre Performance from NAU, and her MFA in Arts Entrepreneurship and Management from ASU. Shelby is proud to serve as the Vice President of the ariZoni Awards of Theatre Excellence. Brian Maticic (Executive Director/ Scenic Designer/ Lighting Designer) received his B.S. in theatre performance from NAU. Acting:  Black Stache/ Peter and the Starcatcher (ariZoni nomination), Robert/ 12 Days of Christmas, Bob/ Revenge of the Space Pandas, Duke Orsino/ Twelfth Night, Bill/ Poseidon’s Regret. Mary Plante (Music Director) got her start music directing ten years ago in a production of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, which was also directed by Shelby Maticic (Brimhall at the time). She’s happy to be working with her NAU family again. She has performed all around the valley for the past three years, most recently as Charilee in Stage Left’s production of The Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular. Look for her as Celia in Brelby’s next production, As You Like It. Love you, Ryan!

Falin Ossipinsky (Choreographer) is so excited to have had the chance to work on this beautiful production of Big Fish! Falin has been dancing, choreographing, and performing for many years, at many different places! Some include Spotlight Youth Theater, Starlight Community Theater, Theatreworks, and right here at Brelby! Recently she choreographed the 2018 ariZoni opening ceremony number. She would like to thank Shelby for trusting her with this, every single person involved in the show, as well as her family and Jack for all their support. Enjoy this magical tale!

Rebecca Ulbrich (Stage Manager) is excited to be a part of this magical production. Previous credits include Powerhouse (SM), Much Ado About Nothing (Props) and Spy Love You (ASM, Props). She would like to thank Shelby, the cast and crew and her husband.

Anabel Olguin (Sound Designer) is delighted to be making her sound design debut at Brelby for this beautiful show. Some previous Brelby design credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Props), Elf Academy (Hair and Make Up), and The Pledge (Costumes). She hopes you enjoy this magical show.

Shelby Huston (Hair & Makeup Designer) is stoked to kick off this season with Big Fish! Some of her favorite shows to design for have been Much Ado About Nothing, Heathers the Musical, and Space Junk. Much love to the cast, production team, and her loving family.

Jen Gantwerker (Prop Designer) has had so much fun helping bring this magical world to life, and literally putting the fish in Big Fish. She’d like to thank Shelby for “yes, and”-ing lots of out-of-the-box ideas and her dad for lending his mad problem-solving skills to several of them.
