This month’s episode of Brelby Besties has been literally taken over by Brelby Theatre Company Collaborative Artists, Kevin Fenderson and Karson Cook. These amazing artists slayed this year’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and they’re back to dazzle and amaze us during the upcoming musical, Dogfight. We’re so glad these two found Brelby and found each other in general. Get ready pals, because it’s:
Lunchtime Tea w/ Kars and Kev
Karson asks Kevin questions:
Karson: How do you feel right now?
Kevin: Hungry (chuckles).
Karson: What are you thinking about?
Kevin: Everything I’m doing in the next 3 months (Shakespeare in the Garden, Dogfight– BUY TICKETS NOW!!, West Side Story, and something G14 classified).
Karson: What have you learned today?
Kevin: That apparently people can make money on Twitter by posting…!
Karson: What’s was your very first impression of me when you first met me?
Kevin: (whips open fan *thworp*) Finally someone just as shady as me.
Karson: Do you have any brothers or sisters? How many?
Kevin: 2 sisters
Karson: Who’s your best/closest friend?
Kevin: *thworp* Gürr, I have too many friends!
Karson: How do you spend your free time?
Kevin: What’s that???
Karson: What annoys you most about people?
Kevin: (to self; out loud) Leave the fan down… Their peopleness? There’s so much dumb. Just…in general.
Karson: What scares you the most?
Kevin: It’s taking everything in me not to sing a song from Waitress right now… Umm not feeling like I’m good enough, take that how you will.
Karson: Everything happens for a reason, why do you think we met?
Kevin: So we could murder Spelling Bee!
Kevin’s Questions for Karson:
Kevin:What’s one of the scariest things you’ve ever done?
Karson: Leave home (for the Disney college program).
Kevin: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Karson: Directing Beauty and the Beast, Jr. It was a huge step for me, and watching those kids have fun on stage was amazing. The best feeling.
Kevin: What are your favorite book and why?
Karson: Books are boring. So, no. But if I HAD to choose, the “GONE series” by Michael Grant. And “Hamlet”. Because who doesn’t love “Hamlet”?
Kevin: What’s something most people don’t know about you?
Karson: That I have ADHD.
Kevin: What’s something you wish everyone knew about you?
Karson: That I’m gay. I’d rather people know than play that awkward “Are you or aren’t you?” game. I don’t need people making a big deal out of it/wanting me to be their GBF (gay best friend).
Kevin: What’s your favorite color?
Karson: *Heavy sigh* probably turquoise or sea foam green. But I look good in blue and purple. So there’s that.
Kevin: What’s your favorite food?
Karson: *Exhales deeply* gürr. All the food. Except mushrooms and tomatoes. Because nobody has time for that. Speaking of food, do I want dessert?
Kevin: What are the things that make you really happy?
Karson: My family, my friends, and nothing makes me happier than theatre.
Kevin: What are some of your goals in life?
Karson: Hold please *sips water*
To inspire/teach kids
Create for as long as I can dream
Dream for as long as I’m alive
Kevin: Everything happens for a reason, why do you think we met?
1. To slay Putnam
2. To spill AAAAAALLLLLLL the tea
3. To do this blog. And eat lunch. And get dessert.
