Brelby Instructor: Jeremy Cruz

Brelby Background: Jeremy made his Brelby debut as an accapatient in Oh, the Humanity! He was seen as Ronnie in Little Shop of Horrors, performed in several cabarets, and performed a memorable rendition of “Run Away With Me” in the 2014 Brelby Miscast Concert. Jeremy recently served as the Assistant Stage Manager for Angel’s Alley and the music director for Dotty Dot! A New Children’s Musical.

Instructor Bio: For the love of dance! Jeremy Cruz has been dancing since he could walk. Music moves his soul and being able to express that with movement has always been a passion of his. High school was where cheerleading and dance team really geared him up. He continued those through college and actually earned him a scholarship. He has done styles such as Jazz, Jazz Funk, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Clogging, Salsa, Pom/Cheerleading, just to name a few. He’s also been a choreographer for a couple small AZ high school pom dance teams for their competition routines.  It wasn’t until his college years that he really blossomed into a full-fledged dancer at Safford Dance Academy.  Becoming a company member there at SDA and getting a chance to really teach for the first time.  From there he joined a small dance company in Tucson called ‘On the Mark’ where he got to perform outside of the studio atmosphere. That led him to a bigger company called ‘Dance for a Cause’ where he got to dance while raising awareness for breast cancer.  Undoubtedly very passionate for the arts but dance has a special place in his heart.

“I’m excited to teach because to me, its not about what you know but how you FEEL. If you feel good, then that will shine through you and nothing can touch that.  It’s never too late to learn something new and to have fun doing it!”
