Here Right Now: The Lovers and the Best Friend

By Megan O’Connor

All making their Brelby Theatre Company debut, Philip Amerine, Taylor Moskowitz Gratil and David Samson sat down with the Brelby Buzz to tell us a bit about themselves in anticipation of opening the first show in the new Brelby Playhouse! Read on to see what these three connect to in Ghost the Musical, who they’d spend a day with, and what shenanigans they’d get up to if they were a ghost.

philName: Philip Amerine
Age: 22
Number of Brelby shows: 1 Brelby show to date
Character in Ghost the Musical: Carl (not the llama)
What’s one dream role you would want to play? Jimmy– Dreamgirls
What theme of the show do you connect with most? I connect with the idea of loss and that redemption story of how someone can make up for the things in life that they never corrected while living.
If you could choose, how would you spend your last day? I would probably wanna jump out of a plane, and watch a really good movie. Although if that was the date I died it probably wouldn’t be in that order.
What’s your proudest accomplishment to date? That I have had the wherewithal and dedication to graduate from college through the help of my friends and family.
If you could spend the day with someone who’s passed on, who would it be? What would you do? probably JFK, I want to know if he knew who shot him.
If you were a ghost what would you do? Explore the world, also being able to haunt a mansion has always appealed me.

If you could spend the day with someone who’s passed on, who would it be? What would you do?  Susan B. Anthony or Jane Austen. Please don’t make me pick one! If you could spend the day with someone who’s passed on, who would it be? What would you do? I would love to spend the day with my Grandpa. I only ever met him once when I was a baby, because he lived in Wales, so I don’t remember him. I would love to get to know the man who raised my dad with my Grandma. I could find out so much more of my family’s rich history.
