It’s that time of year again!! That time when we give the blog over to our immensely talented artists and let them share their thoughts about art, life and more. The November Blogathon has become a Brelby tradition here at the Brelby Buzz, and this year we’re wrapping up Season Nine with our favorite Brelby Moments. For the next 30 days, our artists will discuss their favorite Brelby Moments from Season Nine and how that has impacted them and the way they approach their art.
Today’s piece is by Thea Eigo, who portrayed Marcy Park in this season’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
My Brelby Moment
By Thea Eigo
My favorite Brelby moment from this year was being able to perform in my favorite show to date, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! The cast, crew, and everyone involved was so well fit and made the show a dream to put together. I got to play one of my dream roles and play it along side people I consider some of my best friends! I was very intimidated walking into the show as the youngest actor, but Brelby immediately made me feel welcome and like I belonged there. I was so lucky to find a new theatre home. Shelby, Brian and just Brelby as a whole have such a talent to produce professional, hardworking actors that always feel safe to take risks and make strong choices. Spelling Bee made me fall in love with theatre over and over again. Having the freedom as an actor in a show to improvise and make new choices everyday made the experience like no other. I am so grateful to have been a part of this amazing show, and be a part of the Brelby family!
Thank you, Thea, for sharing this moment. We’re so glad to have you in the Brelby family! Check in tomorrow for more Blogathon goodness!
