In January of 2021 Brelby will venture into the cosmos with an original sci-fi dramedy.
The still untitled piece is currently in development with a writing team of Brelby company members (Brian Maticic, Shelby Elise Maticic, John Perovich, Jenny Gantwerker & Sarah Bary).
Designed to be performed live virtually, Brelby is excited to be exploring the possibilities of this unique performance avenue in new ways.
Synopsis: A carefully selected team will embark on a new adventure through the cosmos to seek a habitable planet for the struggling human race. A dark secret, rising tensions, and celestial obstacles soon threaten the potential for a successful mission. Can the good in humanity rise up against the odds, or is mankind destined to destroy itself?
Casting Call: We are seeking a diverse ensemble of 6-10 artists to build this show around. The script and rehearsal schedule will be tailored to fit those who are cast. We will be rehearsing virtually through the process, and performing from Brelby for the actual run. We will be creating safely socially distanced broadcasting stations for each actor, and will be following all CDC recommended protocols when in our venue.
Base stipend will be $100 per actor.
Our goal with fundraising is to increase this rate.
